Hi, I am C. THOR SELDEN
C. THOR SELDEN
SENIOR MARKETING CONSULTANT
CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO TRI-STATE
973-823-6121 direct extension
Thor Selden dreamed of being a rock star until his Maplewood, N.J. band, “Helvis,” lost a record deal to the musical genius Shaquille O’Neal (it’s actually true.) After living in Colorado for two years, Thor and young family left his custom redwood deck company to return to New Jersey as a newspaper ad salesman.
After two years in the newspaper business, Thor wanted to accomplish more for his clients, and began his radio career with a New Jersey radio station. In 1999, Thor took his knowledge and ideas to Sussex county and the stations that now comprise Clear Channel Radio Tri-State: 103.7 WNNJ, WSUS, WNNJ AM, and Max 106.3 (WHCY.)
After learning about the needs and true passions of his clients’ businesses, Thor designs packages custom fit for each client. Thor writes almost all of his clients’ commercials, and is constantly using his many impersonations to add characters to each. He can usually be heard on the FM stations as most of the Salerno Duane Kia commercials, including “Manly Voice Guy,” and portrays the British motivator in the McAffee Hardware campaign.
Thor’s list of clients reads like a “who’s who” of regional businesses, all of whom he speaks of with great affection. Thor is also dedicated to the community as a member of the Franklin-Hardyston Chamber of Commerce, Manager in the Wallkill Valley Little League, and was recently promoted to Head Coach of the Wallkill Valley Pony Black football team.
Thor and his lovely wife, Cheryl, have 5 sons.
