CLOONEY FILMS MOVIE IN ORANGE
(Blooming Grove) A little bit of Hollywood descends upon Orange County. Yesterday, actor George Clooney shot scenes for his upcoming movie in Blooming Grove. Clooney signed autographs and posed for pictures for locals.
2-ACRE BRUSH FIRE
(Monroe) Several Orange County fire departments reported to a large brush fire yesterday off Cliff Court. One official says the 2-acre fire burned for less than an hour. Fortunately, the area was uninhabited and there are no reported injuries.
PATAKI STILL HOSPITALIZED
(New York) Governor Pataki remains in a New York City hospital. Pataki had his appendix removed last week and tuesday had surgery to deal with an intestinal blockage. Aides say the governor is doing well. There is no word yet on when he will be released.
SCHUMER BACKS TUNNEL PLAN
(Albany) Senator Schumer is backing a bill that would build a new rail tunnel under the Hudson River. Schumer says it would benefit thousands of commuters from Orange County. The Democrat is also asking for help building a rail like that would connect Stewart Airport to New York City.
MAN SERIOUSLY HURT IN CRASH
(Monticello) Sullivan County Authorities say a man sustained serious injuries this weekend after a hit and run accident. 57 year old Richard Crenshaw was struck in Monticello. Poilice say Crenshaw suffered a fractured leg as well as facial and head cuts.
